Montessori 3–6 Assistant Directress | Sunningdale Campus

Do you have a passion for Montessori education, a love for working with young children, and a warm, nurturing approach to teaching?
At Oakdale Montessori, we believe that every child deserves the freedom to explore, discover and grow at their own pace. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Montessori 3–6 Assistant Directress to join our Sunningdale team in January 2027.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who:
· Has a genuine passion for working with children aged 3 to 6 years.
· Understands and embraces the Montessori philosophy and child-centred approach to learning.
· Can confidently support the Directress in all aspects of the prepared Montessori environment.
· Is comfortable presenting Montessori materials and guiding children independently, rather than simply assisting with classroom routines.
· Encourages independence, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
· Communicates warmly and professionally with children, parents and colleagues.
· Is organised and confident with classroom planning, observations, record keeping and preparing Montessori materials.
· Is reliable, patient, creative, enthusiastic and enjoys being part of a supportive teaching team.
Qualifications and requirements
· A Montessori qualification specialising in the 3–6 age group, or currently studying towards a recognised 3–6 Montessori qualification.
· A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
· The ability to confidently present Montessori lessons and assist in managing a 3–6 classroom.
· A sound understanding of Montessori principles, materials and classroom practices.
· Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
