Key Responsibilities:
- Individualised Guidance: Lovingly observe and track each child’s unique developmental journey, delivering timely, tailored presentations across all core curriculum areas (Practical Life, Sensorial, early Language and Mathematics).
- Environment Stewardship: Expertly manage and maintain the beauty and order of the Prepared Environment, overseeing material selection, design and organisation to maximise learner independence and engagement.
- Classroom Leadership: Cultivate a peaceful and dynamic multi-age group (18 months – 3 years) community, promoting peer mentoring and actively developing strong social-emotional skills among all children.
- Community Partnership: Build strong relationships with parents through open, effective communication, detailed progress reports and practical guidance on extending Montessori principles into the home.
- Programme Integrity: Maintain and uphold a deep commitment to the authentic Montessori philosophy. This includes guiding and mentoring assistants, as well as collaborating with administration to support the school’s long-term educational vision.

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a true passion for early childhood education and possesses the following essential qualities:

- Proactive Work Ethic: Takes initiative and can execute assigned classroom and organisational tasks efficiently and independently.
- Energetic Engagement: Possesses the high energy and positive attitude required to keep pace with the active and dynamic nature of the preschool environment.
- Community Builder: A friendly, open communicator who is comfortable engaging with parents and actively fostering strong relationships within the Maria Montessori House community.
- Commitment to Growth: Demonstrates a teachable and positive attitude, ready to collaborate with the teaching team and receive mentorship.
Minimum Professional Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Experience: At least two years of proven teaching within a Montessori Preschool (18 months – 3 years) classroom setting.
- Qualification: A formal qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a recognised Montessori qualification (AMI or MACTE).
- Registration: SACE registration (provisional status is accepted).
- Compliance: Current Police Clearance Certificate and a valid First Aid Certificate.
- Technical Skills: Competent computer skills for basic administrative tasks and communication.
